      A) Thank you for your interest in our product. This unit utilizes a two part system to filter many contaminants out of the air. The air will first pass through the prefilter, which is the long, black spongy piece responsible for removing larger particles. After passing through the prefilter, the smaller particles are then captured by the two IFD filters, which are approximately 1.5 inches thick and have a honeycomb-like appearance.
